This driver has tested on the following Linux distribution: (1) RedHat 5.1/6.0/6.1 (2) Corel Linux 1.0 (3) OpenLinux 2.3 (4) Slackware 7.0 (Only can use tgz install) ****************************************************************************** * 3. SiS630/540 Linux VGA Driver Installation * ****************************************************************************** You can choose eithor method 1 or 2 to install Linux VGA driver 1. Choose .rpm to install driver # rpm -i --nodeps xsis.rpm # xf86config (Option, see example in section 4) # startx 2. Choose .tgz to install driver # tar -zxvf xsis.tgz # cp XSiS_SVGA /usr/X11R6/bin/. # ln -s -f /usr/X11R6/bin/XSiS_SVGA /etc/X11/X # xf86config (Option, see example in section 4) # startx Note: SiS strongly recommand to run xf86config again before run "startx". ****************************************************************************** * 4. Example of Linux System Configuration * ****************************************************************************** System Configuration--The recommended setting parameter as you run xf86config (Only for reference, these settings are system specific or Linux dependent) a. First Specify a mouse protocol type. Choose one from the following list: ¡K 4) PS/2 Mouse Enter a protocol number: 4 b. If your mouse has only two buttons, it is recommended that you enable Emulate3Buttons. Do you want to enable Emulate3Buttons? y Now give the full device name that the mouse is connected to, for example /dev/tty00. Just pressing enter will use the default, /dev/mouse. Mouse device: /dev/mouse c. Beginning with Xfree86 3.1.2D, you can use the new X11R6.1 XKEYBOARD extension to manage the keyboard layout. ¡K Please answer the following question with either 'y' or 'n'. Do you want to use XKB?
